Sogyal Rinpoche do you think the Irish are suckers for sex?

Dutch investigative reporter Dirk Mostert of Brandpunt (KRO-NCRV) investigated sexual abuse by Buddhist teachers, with a specific focus on Sogyal Lakar (aka Sogyal Rinpoche of ’The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying’) and his international organization Rigpa.

It is clear that Sogyal is coming under increasing scrutiny and I was able to have a very fruitful discussion with a Dutch researcher Rob Hogendoorn who is currently researching up to 18 cases of abuse by Buddhist teachers. Top Tibetan monk faces India money-laundering charges A top Tibetan monk who is seen as a potential successor to the Dalai Lama is to be prosecuted for money-laundering after an Indian court overturned a decision to drop charges, police said on Thursday (Jul 9).

The Dalai is getting ready for a handover but is he going to end up in reality bringing Tibetan Buddhism to an end. Trinley is recognised by both China and the Dalai Lama as the reincarnation of the Karmapa Lama, head of the Karma Kagyu lineage, one of Tibetan Buddhism’s four major schools. As the Dalai Lama is now 80 most westerners are not aware he is at the heart of a highly feudal religion which has no relationship to Buddhism. It is in fact a Hindu sex cult of a tantric nature.
