Someone who has been tracing the evolving world of Scientology is Tony Ortega. He brings out a well informed blog piece every day. We generally do not publish every story here as we concentrate on Scientology stories which have an Irish angle. However, some of our readers might like to receive his reports.

Scientology continues to post attacks on Ron Miscavige at its anonymous smear website dedicated to countering Ron’s major memoir, ‘Ruthless.’ But we noticed something really interesting about this newest attempt to ruin Ron’s reputation: Scientology has already admitted that it’s on Ron’s side of the facts.

Despite a concerted online campaign attacking him in predictable ways, Ron Miscavige finds himself with a certified best-seller. That means a lot more people are being introduced to Scientology and its controversies — and we have recommendations for what they should read next!

We told you what we think of Ron Miscavige’s memoir ‘Ruthless.’ And now it’s Chris Shelton’s turn. ALSO: We have the dox from the wild Nevada ‘Real Water’ lawsuit, and we mark a bookish anniversary

In the name of balance, ABC’s ’20/20′ allowed Scientology to trash Ron Miscavige’s reputation as a musician during its program Friday night. But was any of it true? We look into some detail of Ron’s history as a musician that ABC might have presented, and from two sources you’ll want to hear from.

  1. All these points are well known, but this thread is about Scientology. Write up an evidence based critique of OD. However, in the OD section. Also look at our education section and you will note the National School is supposed to be non denominational and access is supposed to be open to all. Also religion must be taught separately.

  2. Because I sent my children to an Ennis, Co. Clare ‘National’ school. As there was no Parents Association, I and a few others started one-as by the Education Act 1998. The School management were obsessively against it and initially placed every obstacle in our way until the Chair of the PA was filled by a woman who is an Opus Dei member. When the elections for new Parents representatives were held, I got the highest vote on the ‘Fathers’ panel The votes were counted without public awareness and by the Opus Dei member (she was also a candidate!), I overheard the conversation between the School principal and the Opus Dei member to the effect that the school patron did not consider me suitable. A teacher from another Ennis school who has student children in the ‘National’ school was chosen by the patron to fill the BOM position instead of me. I can mention his name if you wish……………………..This is just a snippet of what the sect get up to. The patron of the school claimed that he never heard of Opus Dei. The legal profession is heavily infiltrated as well as the higher medical profession and there was a solicitor and a medical doctor involved in this corruption. But, if you (whoever you are} do not know this-it seems strange.

  3. How do you evaluate Opus Dei does more damage than Scientology? Some evidence please?

  4. I would put the House of Prayer followed by Tony Quinn then either Opus Dei or the Palmarians followed on by Scientology but in the end they are all bad for your mental and financial health

  5. Why not? Write it Robert and we will consider it for publication.

  6. Perhaps we could have an expose on Opus Dei, which causes far more harm in Ireland than Scientology-or would that ruffle the wrong feathers?
