I am so relieved this has come out. What Mr Boyle is up to is nothing less than harrassment in the workplace and the law should be protecting the employees there. Employees are being told they have to attend these sessions with this (Removed) Georgina Dolan and people who have expressed resistance to it have been advised it would be a very unwise (Removed). Rather than doing any good for his company, he is making an even bigger ass of himself than people already believe him to be and distracting employees from their real work not only during the time they have to endure these sessions away from their desks, but the entire workforce can talk about nothing else. Everyone is whispering what they really think of him and her and most people are already making their own plans to leave and get out of it just as soon as they possibly can. Really there’s wiser locked up and it is a huge insult to the intelligence of his highly skilled workforce. Nice one Mr Boyle – is that what you hoped to achieve? This big investment intended to help staff as he says, has them boiling with anger and resentment instead. On the one hand he decalres the big investment (waste of money) being made in (Removed) and on the other hand he demotivates the staff with more news of yet more pay freezes and cancelled bonuses. He has everybody wondering – what the hell is this (Removed) going to come up with next and they are all worried about their jobs. He will most certainly lose a lot more than he will gain by this disastrous association with Georgina Dolan and most of that will be his very best employees. Watch this space!
I too am very concerned about what is happening at Boylesports. I don’t work for Boylesports myself, but I know some of the staff very well and also have relations working there. (Removed) As I understand it, if any of the staff refuse to attend these meetings ran by Georgina Dolan, they will be disciplined and maybe lose their jobs. (Removed)
It seems to me if the staff were given the choice they would probably not attend but unfortunately Quinn and his disciples know that because of the economy jobs are hard to come by and most people are only staying at Boylesports because of the lack of jobs elsewhere.

She’s apparently giving everyone in the company a grade which will affect their future with the company. It hasn’t been explained on what basis people are being judged (certainly nothing to do with their work performance or career experience) and what professional credentials she has to imbue her with the authority to judge anyone. This is very unsettling for everyone and it is very disrespectful to his employees to treat them in this way. (Removed)

Even the best of them go bad once they’ve crossed that line. How about everyone shouting NO when he mentions ‘staff training’? Since the word spreads quickly about what is happening I doubt he’ll have people asking for employment unless they think they’re immune to hypnosis. I get very suspicious when I hear anything about stress relief. Does Gorgina give relaxation sessions? The one on one’s give me the creeps just thinking about it. I had one of them with another TQ worker influenced by Quinn and found myself doing something I would not have done before and I consider myself intelligent. If you value your mental health you need to put a stop to this so called training. Stay true to yourselves!
John Boyle will eventually bring his own company down. He considers his company in terms of a small corner shop instead of an internationl one. The people who work there obviously have no voice to put forward

I currently work for John Boyle and I am terrified of these so called training sessions. A meeting we had to attend last year (on my day off) that personEdit DI told us she had stopped her blood flow with her mind during a major gynecological operation with no anaethestic! Seriously I do not want that women anywhere near my mind.I do hope other staff members speak out as this has to stop.
Well there was quite a buzz today in Boylesports as pretty much everybody had read these posts las night and i think we will see many more staff coming forward tonight and posting messages. John Boyle spent the entire day closeted away with Georgina. I got the impression they were aware of these posts and the aftermath of Sunday’s article. I for one will be saying a firm no way to any invitation for a one to one with that head case!
The atmosphere today was electric in Boyles HQ. If John wanted a united staff he’s got it but not in the way he hoped. I hear that a MAJOR article is coming soon in one of the top papers. Will JB realise what he’s done and put an end to this before hand? Will he fuck!

I personally will not be attending her seminars or listening to any of her gripe, nor will I allow them to threaten my job over this either. I stumbled across this while reading the BVI court case with interest. I don’t know 1/2 the facts of that case having only read snippets here and there, but I’d like to learn the whole story when it comes out and hope anything that should be brought to light is, the judge is fair and that justice is genuinely served, whatever it may be.
If I may, I’d like to respond to some comments made above. I don’t like to see people unhappy their job as it’s unpleasant for everyone involved.

I’ll just come straight out and say it; Sorry, but a company is not a democracy. Final responsibility lies with the owner. If he makes good decisions he makes money and creates a lot of jobs and if he makes bad decisions he goes out of business. Either way, as the owner he has earned the right to make those decisions. You have free will. We all have the free will to go set up our own company and make our own decisions or the free will to leave a position we don’t like. Yes, our circumstances may make this difficult for us, but we’ve got to take responsibility for where we are in life.
In my earlier days as an employee, I’ve had to attend many different training courses. Some I really liked, some I was indifferent to and some I really hated and just didn’t want to be there for one second. For the ones I didn’t like, I don’t think that legally I had a choice in whether or not I wanted to attend. I just had to go. There was one in particular I didn’t want to go to, but I knew that if I refused, I’d be starting down the road to losing my job. Although it was unpleasant, I didn’t consider that unfair or unjust. I was paid to be there from 9-5 and my boss had the authority to direct how I spend this time. If I didn’t’ like it, nobody stopped me leaving. Sounds harsh but that’s what you sign up for when you accept a job offer.
What if a Manchester United footballer decided they didn’t want to take part in an unpleasant training session? How long would they last? Or what if they found Fergie’s “blowdryer” team talks unpleasant? There’s nobody forcing them to stay.
As an employer I’ve noticed that it’s quite normal for some/many staff to resist staff training programs. The more unusual/unorthodox, the more they are resisted. If I initiate a staff training program of some sort, and some employees don’t want to take part I would see it as a very unwise career move. I may wonder if they are going to be part of the company’s future growth. Again, I imagine this would be the case in practically every company.

Whenever I meet another company owner I usually hear them boast about how much business they’re doing, or complaining about how they’re doing “nothing”. Most of the time I know they must be exaggerating, (although occasionally it is true). I’ve no idea about whether or not JB’s comments are accurate, but if they’re not, then he has a lot in common with about 90% of the other company owners I know.

4 years of pay freezes is common in many Irish companies. In fact, I know employers who have had to let go of a lot of staff and given 15% pay cuts to those remaining.

I’m not sure how relevant this comment is. I don’t know anything about JB’s work style, or know enough about him to like or dislike him, but if I was achieving revenues and profits like he is I wouldn’t be over concerned about whether some people think I’m “impressive” or “inspirational”. He seems to be getting bloody good financial results, in a very difficult environment, something which many smart, impressive, inspirational business people have failed to do. In every company I’ve ever worked in, it’s normal for people to complain about management and everyone seems to have an idea about how to run the company better. Fine. Go set up your own company and run it better.

Read “Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaacons. Personally, I couldn’t decide whether I would have loved or hating working for Steve Jobs. At times he seemed like a genius, at times he appeared like a ******.
Go read about other highly successful business owners. Many of them are certainly not average Joes. Google the billionaire “Ray Dalio” who is the most successful hedge fund manager in history. I’ve read forums similar to this where (some of his) staff tell stories about how terrible it is to work there, what crazy, pressuring training programs they have and, yes, New Yorker Magazine points out: “Critics say that he runs a cult.” Nonetheless, they are hugely successful and have people queuing up to join them, but it’s not for everyone and some leave. C’est la vie. Again, if you don’t like the style there’s no one putting a gun to their heads forcing them to apply for jobs, or to stay there if it doesn’t suit them.
If I was working at a job I wasn’t happy with I’d decide whether I’m going to leave or stay.
If deciding to leave: (assuming I couldn’t just quit as my family needed my income). Firstly, I’d give it one last shot to see what would happen if my performance improved and if my prospects could get better. I’d go along with the training (I didn’t like) and see what good I might be able to get out of the training (as I did in the past) and I’d see if me actually doing my job really well and per my employers wishes helped improve my prospects. If after improving my performance, results and prospects I still wanted to leave, I’d be working all evening and weekend sending out CV’s, networking trying to find job openings that may suit, or trying to figure out what business I would start and then making preparations.
I do hope that anyone unhappy right now can figure out a way to improve things for themselves, whatever way they approach it or decide is best for them.
Furthermore if I were paid what a professional footballer is paid, maybe my tolerance levels for bad management, lack of leadership and downright bad decisions would be a lot higher too. Fact is we are seriously underpaid by industry remuneration rates. Other companies in the industry recruiting for the same positions are paying so much more and there is no such thing as pay freezes because pretty much everyone in the industry are seeing growth in profits. We also see the KPIs here so we know there’s growth and the only reason for pay freezes and cancelled bonuses for people who have broken their backs to blow their targets out of the water, is yet more bad decisions by JB to invest in things he should not be investing in – yet again!!!
Another irish employer – I wonder if you are getting the point. The staff are being sent to hypnosis sessions run by 2 people heavily involved in Tony Quinns empire.* I am all for staff training but there is enough of a trail of distruction behind Tony for anyone to be concerned about being forced to go to his seminars. But then again I’m sure like me, everyone has realised who you are Edited DI. and would hope that you can talk some sense into the guy.
* DI is receiving reports that John Boyle now claims he has no relationship to Quinn and has not had since 2002. Also the same is being said about Georgina Dolan. We would ask the public who were involved in seminars or who were staff who were sent on seminars by Boylesports to confirm whether this is in fact true. We have evidence that certainly links JB to TQ after that date. Also DI was approached by staff who were sent on seminars after 2002. One was sent home from LA when he went to Disneyland instead of doing the seminar.
Indeed it’s your futue at stake here too and it’s high time somebody other than JB was driving that company, unimpinged by his mad ideas, bad judgement and disastrous investments.

I was unfortunate enough to be in a ‘group’ meeting with Georgina Dolan. She accused someone attending of not been intune – really i’m sure thats going to help. The whole thing is insane . Were it not for the recession many of us would have left a long time ago. The idea that this is helping people is ridiculous, i have not met ANYONE in the office who thinks this is in anyway beneficial. The arrogance behind all of this is breathtaking and the end result is that this just undermines peoples confidence in themselves.

I’m encouraged that employees are posting on here. Would it be possible for this fledgling resistance movement to pool our resources and actually find out where we stand from a legal point of view. Some people might be fortunate enough to be able to move companies easily but a lot of individuals are well settled in the area and have industry specific jobs. The best outcome for those people is undoubtedly an end to this academy of success.
It’ll be fairly straightforward for Boyles to pick individuals off one by one, they have previous form for this. If we were all armed with the correct information, knew where we stood legally, what our rights as employees are, it would make it harder for them.
I don’t know where to start looking though. I assume an employer would be within their rights make an employee go into a board room for 30 minutes but I would doubt very much if they can force the employee to close there eyes. The quasi hypnotic nature of the meetings and the lack of disclosure about Georgina’s qualifications probably provides us with a reasonable reason for not attending. But we need to know the facts. Does anyone know a good employment lawyer?

I have heard that there is already some people that have joined a union but that there is not enough of them to put real pressure on Mr. Boyle. Seek these people out give them your suuport.
Is there anything that can actually be done to stop Boyle forcing his staff into doing this course? He has already changed the wording of it to “customer service” course, which makes it impossible for staff to refuse to go leaving them with the choice to attened the course or leave…
Maybe this is what he wants,Long serving staff who have helpped to build the company to what it is today to leave so he can replace them with new staff on short low hour contracts that he can do what he likes with and pay even less than he does already.
Does he not realise that his staff are the most important part of his company. They are the front line, the people that made his company, the people that take in the money that makes him wealthy, the people that stand and take the abuse of the general public every day for him. They get abused, treatened,attacked, robbed and all for him.
He sends out emails saying that due to the economic climate he wont be paying any bonus and then the following emails tells them how good the company is doing and all the millions it is making. Talk about kicking your staff while they are down…
If your staff are not happy it will not create a happy enviroment for your customers and you will not make your staff happy by bullying, forcing, intimidating them into doing something they don’t want to do and are in fear of. I could go on but is there a point..

To add to the above comments, remarkably “The Academy For Success” drivel was sent to employees after 6pm Friday, conveniently when most people in Head Office had gone home for the weekend. exactly the same “mind training programme” only rebranded as a Customer Services training programme.Sent by the HR Manager (surely someone who should have grave reservations about this?

There has been a mass exodus of people out of the company in the last year or so from all departments and this seems to be increasing on a weekly basis from senior management down to retail staff.
In my opinion one reason for this is the increased workload and pressure put on employees to cover for the people who have left and not been replaced. Trying to match the biggest bookmaker in Ireland yet with only a quarter of the staff and resources. And yet for coping admirably, what do the employees get?…….
Pay freeze going on 4 years, no recognition of any hard work done, not even a Xmas bonus.

Even though i’m sure John Boyle is very aware of the concern this is all causing to his employees, when I saw him the other day he told me he was feeling as “fantastic” as usual !!
Boyle’s “fantastic” feeling is easily attained because of extensive hypnosis. It is a programme that blocks any opposition to what he wants, or wants you to believe, at that moment. He hasn’t realised that too much of this can drive him nuts. He could also be relying on the ‘energy’ to put it right and using the Postal Request system so he doesn’t have to worry about it. This is another money spinner for Quinn, tax free, straight into his bank account.
He walks around with not a care in the world and it becomes important that, even if it is not true, he gives that impression. Quinn would say that it is a superior way of being. The mind master only thinks about what he wants, never about what he does not want. Negative people who have negative thoughts need brainwashing to snap them into the positive.
The fact that they are trying to deceive you about the title of the training is very underhanded.

This seems to be some sort of “self improvement thing” and absolutely nothing to do with what we have already been trained to do and for the most part do quite well! that being the running of successful betting shops.

Tony Quinn has turned something that can be good into something which is obsessive, self centred and evil. Most highly successful people do live “in the now” and do avoid negative thoughts etc (probably naturally) plus they tend to be stubborn about achieving their objectives. This is all moderated by common sense and decency. Also they do not try to ram there way of thinking down other people’s throats.
They influence other people by example.
A good Christian god fearing person certainly can be admired but when they start to rant about the gospels etc and try to ram their own personal beliefs down other people’s throats then people just regard them as a religious nut and this will tend to drive people away from religion rather than towards it. A real good person leads by example.

We cannot underestimate how Quinn will look to profit, if he isn’t already doing so, from Boylesports. My gut feeling is that if seminar prices come down enough there is the possibility of compulsory attendance in the future. Using Quinn’s terminology, ‘the weed’ that needs pulling out is himself and the roots of his plans for Boylesports destroyed once and for all.

I doubt the directors of the company knew what they were letting themselves in for even if they were seduced into believing he made it happen. The shareholders were duped into believing everything was alright. Isn’t he the great magician altogether! Everything he touches turns to dust. Tricia, unfortunately it seems Boylesports like i am sure other companys took adavantage of the downturn and staff were not at the high list of the agenda. On another occasion the shop i worked in had the hours cut but our contracts were not changed. Our contracted hours were 96 for the 3 staff but all of a sudden we were cut to 90 hours and were told quite clearly we could not go over these. So yes we were down in our salaries because of this. I tried to complain but due to my direct manager going away on a months sabatical/holiday/gardening leave whatever he called it then i was told to bring it to his attention when he came back. When i did eventually speak to him about this and being single manned in the shop i was told that this was the only way the shop could survive. So how can you argue with that. As i said sadly i did not stand up for myself and others the way i should have.
I know they say any publicity good or bad is great but i am very surprised that Mr Boyle would be happy with this scandal especially after The Love Triangle Employment Tribunal that happened the end of last year that cost Mr Boyle at least 60 Thousand Euro.
@angie there are a few strands to consider, only some staff are in unions, not all the same unions, some staff worked for other bookmakers that Boyles took over so they won’t rock the boat cos they are on better terms and conditions than the rest of us. They will be the ones watching us all and tellin us to go on strike but not doin anythin themselves, while they sit on the staff council, look at ladbrokes they did not adheres to labour court recommendations and their chief exec wants to get involved in legislation to be open all year till 10, love the idea of a strike or stoppage downing tools on Saturdays etc… Still too many yes brigade in shops that are too close to the area managers. I am with siptu but not a lot in province are in unions. Other than the love triangle, did anyone else take them to court out of curiousity?.
Georgie: Thanks for the information. We’ll just have to keep it in the news one way or another. It’s obvious that something needs to be done about the whole set-up. Labour Court recommendations need to be changed to Labour Court laws. I don’t know how they can sleep at night when they take advantage of workers like that.
Mike Garde from Dialogue was in court aswering ridiculous questions put to him by Morrice’s legal team. She is a director of INE. What I like about it is Morrice and Quinn guarantee newspaper articles that include Dialogue and the service they provide for the public. We also get great coverage of what happens; who says what etc., Quinn is the biggest liar you could ever meet. In his last court case Morrice had to lie to the court rather than disagree with what Quinn had already given as evidence. Documents were forged to back up what he said and even then he could not get his story straight. The whole thing is a farce. Talk about shooting themselves in the foot.
Have you read the latest on Dialogue? An ex-educoist protested with DI and posted on Protest Tony Quinn Pictures. She had a bit of a hard time with a number of educoists. She wasn’t fazed by them at all. Their anger came to the surface to protect their ‘saviour’. Quite a few old age pensioners like himself dressed in their Sunday best and others dressing as if going out for a night on the town.
Reading DI’s account and Eve’s it gives a fuller picture of his cowardice and the lies Quinn tells them. Seriously, two older men, shareholders in INE, blatently lied about getting dividents and one of them backtracked and admitted it was a loan. From this I gather Quinn approves of him as anyone who stood up to him got nothing! THIS IS THE TRUTH! Security moved in to take him away from Mike Garde. This crowd, for definite, are totally brainwashed. The numbers are dwindling. Visualising a rusty bucket with a leak. No stopping ex-educoists from leaving their false ‘prophet’. Does anyone in your work talk about courses you should attend that do not relate to your work? In the past it was compulsory to attend a Tony Quinn seminar. Are there sales groups set up that you are advised to attend? Do they include talks about Tony Quinn? Is there any cult like material used for training such as ‘if you really believe, it will come about’ and when you fail to reach the target constant pressure and bullying tactics used that leave you feeling confused and open to harmful emotional feedback from them?
This for the following reason. There is no evidence that Boylesports is under the influence of TQ. Unless we receive further evidence to the contrary we are of the opinion that John Boyle is still under the influence of Quinn’s philosopy.
Also we were given information from ex Educoists that GD is a convinced Educoist, but that her activities though possibility influenced by Quinn are not directly simple Educo courses. We have written this on a number of occasions.
I have started to work in the Boyle’s HQ in Dundalk about 6 months ago and i have to say that all this ‘cult’ish behaviour must be kept well hidden as i’ve yet to see any of it! My dealings with the JB himself have been kept to a bare minimum thus far. I am so relieved this has come out. What Mr Boyle is up to is nothing less than harrassment in the workplace and the law should be protecting the employees there. Employees are being told they have to attend these sessions with this (Removed) Georgina Dolan and people who have expressed resistance to it have been advised it would be a very unwise (Removed). Rather than doing any good for his company, he is making an even bigger ass of himself than people already believe him to be and distracting employees from their real work not only during the time they have to endure these sessions away from their desks, but the entire workforce can talk about nothing else. Everyone is whispering what they really think of him and her and most people are already making their own plans to leave and get out of it just as soon as they possibly can. Really there’s wiser locked up and it is a huge insult to the intelligence of his highly skilled workforce. Nice one Mr Boyle – is that what you hoped to achieve? This big investment intended to help staff as he says, has them boiling with anger and resentment instead. On the one hand he decalres the big investment (waste of money) being made in (Removed) and on the other hand he demotivates the staff with more news of yet more pay freezes and cancelled bonuses. I too am very concerned about what is happening at Boylesports. I don’t work for Boylesports myself, but I know some of the staff very well and also have relations working there. It seems to me if the staff were given the choice they would probably not attend but unfortunately Quinn and his disciples know that because of the economy jobs are hard to come by and most people are only staying at Boylesports because of the lack of jobs elsewhere.

Since the word spreads quickly about what is happening I doubt he’ll have people asking for employment unless they think they’re immune to hypnosis. I get very suspicious when I hear anything about stress relief. Does Gorgina give relaxation sessions? The one on one’s give me the creeps just thinking about it. I had one of them with another TQ worker influenced by Quinn and found myself doing something I would not have done before and I consider myself intelligent. If you value your mental health you need to put a stop to this so called training. Stay true to yourselves!

I currently work for John Boyle and I am terrified of these so called training sessions. A meeting we had to attend last year (on my day off) that person Edit DI told us she had stopped her blood flow with her mind during a major gynecological operation with no anaethestic! Seriously I do not want that women anywhere near my mind.I do hope other staff members speak out as this has to stop.
Well there was quite a buzz today in Boylesports as pretty much everybody had read these posts las night and i think we will see many more staff coming forward tonight and posting messages. I stumbled across this while reading the BVI court case with interest. I don’t know 1/2 the facts of that case having only read snippets here and there, but I’d like to learn the whole story when it comes out and hope anything that should be brought to light is, the judge is fair and that justice is genuinely served, whatever it may be.
If I may, I’d like to respond to some comments made above. I don’t like to see people unhappy their job as it’s unpleasant for everyone involved.

I’ll just come straight out and say it; Sorry, but a company is not a democracy. Final responsibility lies with the owner. If he makes good decisions he makes money and creates a lot of jobs and if he makes bad decisions he goes out of business. Either way, as the owner he has earned the right to make those decisions. You have free will. We all have the free will to go set up our own company and make our own decisions or the free will to leave a position we don’t like. Yes, our circumstances may make this difficult for us, but we’ve got to take responsibility for where we are in life.
In my earlier days as an employee, I’ve had to attend many different training courses. Some I really liked, some I was indifferent to and some I really hated and just didn’t want to be there for one second. For the ones I didn’t like, I don’t think that legally I had a choice in whether or not I wanted to attend. I just had to go. There was one in particular I didn’t want to go to, but I knew that if I refused, I’d be starting down the road to losing my job. Although it was unpleasant, I didn’t consider that unfair or unjust. I was paid to be there from 9-5 and my boss had the authority to direct how I spend this time. If I didn’t’ like it, nobody stopped me leaving. Sounds harsh but that’s what you sign up for when you accept a job offer.
What if a Manchester United footballer decided they didn’t want to take part in an unpleasant training session? How long would they last? Or what if they found Fergie’s “blowdryer” team talks unpleasant? There’s nobody forcing them to stay.
As an employer I’ve noticed that it’s quite normal for some/many staff to resist staff training programs. The more unusual/unorthodox, the more they are resisted. If I initiate a staff training program of some sort, and some employees don’t want to take part I would see it as a very unwise career move. I may wonder if they are going to be part of the company’s future growth. Again, I imagine this would be the case in practically every company.

Whenever I meet another company owner I usually hear them boast about how much business they’re doing, or complaining about how they’re doing “nothing”. Most of the time I know they must be exaggerating, (although occasionally it is true). I’ve no idea about whether or not JB’s comments are accurate, but if they’re not, then he has a lot in common with about 90% of the other company owners I know.

4 years of pay freezes is common in many Irish companies. In fact, I know employers who have had to let go of a lot of staff and given 15% pay cuts to those remaining.

I’m not sure how relevant this comment is. I don’t know anything about JB’s work style, or know enough about him to like or dislike him, but if I was achieving revenues and profits like he is I wouldn’t be over concerned about whether some people think I’m “impressive” or “inspirational”. He seems to be getting bloody good financial results, in a very difficult environment, something which many smart, impressive, inspirational business people have failed to do. In every company I’ve ever worked in, it’s normal for people to complain about management and everyone seems to have an idea about how to run the company better. Fine. Go set up your own company and run it better.

Go read about other highly successful business owners. Many of them are certainly not average Joes. Google the billionaire “Ray Dalio” who is the most successful hedge fund manager in history. I’ve read forums similar to this where (some of his) staff tell stories about how terrible it is to work there, what crazy, pressuring training programs they have and, yes, New Yorker Magazine points out: “Critics say that he runs a cult.” Nonetheless, they are hugely successful and have people queuing up to join them, but it’s not for everyone and some leave. C’est la vie. Again, if you don’t like the style there’s no one putting a gun to their heads forcing them to apply for jobs, or to stay there if it doesn’t suit them.
If I was working at a job I wasn’t happy with I’d decide whether I’m going to leave or stay.
If deciding to leave: (assuming I couldn’t just quit as my family needed my income). Firstly, I’d give it one last shot to see what would happen if my performance improved and if my prospects could get better. I’d go along with the training (I didn’t like) and see what good I might be able to get out of the training (as I did in the past) and I’d see if me actually doing my job really well and per my employers wishes helped improve my prospects. If after improving my performance, results and prospects I still wanted to leave, I’d be working all evening and weekend sending out CV’s, networking trying to find job openings that may suit, or trying to figure out what business I would start and then making preparations.
I do hope that anyone unhappy right now can figure out a way to improve things for themselves, whatever way they approach it or decide is best for them.

Furthermore if I were paid what a professional footballer is paid, maybe my tolerance levels for bad management, lack of leadership and downright bad decisions would be a lot higher too. Fact is we are seriously underpaid by industry remuneration rates. Other companies in the industry recruiting for the same positions are paying so much more and there is no such thing as pay freezes because pretty much everyone in the industry are seeing growth in profits. We also see the KPIs here so we know there’s growth and the only reason for pay freezes and cancelled bonuses for people who have broken their backs to blow their targets out of the water, is yet more bad decisions by JB to invest in things he should not be investing in – yet again!!!

The staff are being sent to hypnosis sessions run by 2 people heavily involved in Tony Quinns empire.* I am all for staff training but there is enough of a trail of distruction behind Tony for anyone to be concerned about being forced to go to his seminars. I was unfortunate enough to be in a ‘group’ meeting with Georgina Dolan. She accused someone attending of not been intune – really i’m sure thats going to help. The whole thing is insane . Were it not for the recession many of us would have left a long time ago. The idea that this is helping people is ridiculous, i have not met ANYONE in the office who thinks this is in anyway beneficial. The arrogance behind all of this is breathtaking and the end result is that this just undermines peoples confidence in themselves.

I’m encouraged that employees are posting on here. Would it be possible for this fledgling resistance movement to pool our resources and actually find out where we stand from a legal point of view. Some people might be fortunate enough to be able to move companies easily but a lot of individuals are well settled in the area and have industry specific jobs. The best outcome for those people is undoubtedly an end to this academy of success.
It’ll be fairly straightforward for Boyles to pick individuals off one by one, they have previous form for this. If we were all armed with the correct information, knew where we stood legally, what our rights as employees are, it would make it harder for them.
I don’t know where to start looking though. I assume an employer would be within their rights make an employee go into a board room for 30 minutes but I would doubt very much if they can force the employee to close there eyes. The quasi hypnotic nature of the meetings and the lack of disclosure about Georgina’s qualifications probably provides us with a reasonable reason for not attending. But we need to know the facts. Does anyone know a good employment lawyer?

Maybe this is what he wants,Long serving staff who have helpped to build the company to what it is today to leave so he can replace them with new staff on short low hour contracts that he can do what he likes with and pay even less than he does already.
Does he not realise that his staff are the most important part of his company. They are the front line, the people that made his company, the people that take in the money that makes him wealthy, the people that stand and take the abuse of the general public every day for him. ) Still I’m sure she is quite aware of the implied consequences of not sending it out!
There has been a mass exodus of people out of the company in the last year or so from all departments and this seems to be increasing on a weekly basis from senior management down to retail staff.
In my opinion one reason for this is the increased workload and pressure put on employees to cover for the people who have left and not been replaced. Trying to match the biggest bookmaker in Ireland yet with only a quarter of the staff and resources. And yet for coping admirably, what do the employees get?…….

Boyle’s “fantastic” feeling is easily attained because of extensive hypnosis. It is a programme that blocks any opposition to what he wants, or wants you to believe, at that moment. He hasn’t realised that too much of this can drive him nuts. He could also be relying on the ‘energy’ to put it right and using the Postal Request system so he doesn’t have to worry about it. This is another money spinner for Quinn, tax free, straight into his bank account.
He walks around with not a care in the world and it becomes important that, even if it is not true, he gives that impression. Quinn would say that it is a superior way of being. The mind master only thinks about what he wants, never about what he does not want. Negative people who have negative thoughts need brainwashing to snap them into the positive.

Tony Quinn has turned something that can be good into something which is obsessive, self centred and evil. Most highly successful people do live “in the now” and do avoid negative thoughts etc (probably naturally) plus they tend to be stubborn about achieving their objectives. This is all moderated by common sense and decency. Also they do not try to ram there way of thinking down other people’s throats.
They influence other people by example.
A good Christian god fearing person certainly can be admired but when they start to rant about the gospels etc and try to ram their own personal beliefs down other people’s throats then people just regard them as a religious nut and this will tend to drive people away from religion rather than towards it. A real good person leads by example.

Tricia, unfortunately it seems Boylesports like i am sure other companys took adavantage of the downturn and staff were not at the high list of the agenda. On another occasion the shop i worked in had the hours cut but our contracts were not changed. Our contracted hours were 96 for the 3 staff but all of a sudden we were cut to 90 hours and were told quite clearly we could not go over these. So yes we were down in our salaries because of this. I tried to complain but due to my direct manager going away on a months sabatical/holiday/gardening leave whatever he called it then i was told to bring it to his attention when he came back. When i did eventually speak to him about this and being single manned in the shop i was told that this was the only way the shop could survive. So how can you argue with that. As i said sadly i did not stand up for myself and others the way i should have.
I know they say any publicity good or bad is great but i am very surprised that Mr Boyle would be happy with this scandal especially after The Love Triangle Employment Tribunal that happened the end of last year that cost Mr Boyle at least 60 Thousand Euro.
@angie there are a few strands to consider, only some staff are in unions, not all the same unions, some staff worked for other bookmakers that Boyles took over so they won’t rock the boat cos they are on better terms and conditions than the rest of us. They will be the ones watching us all and tellin us to go on strike but not doin anythin themselves, while they sit on the staff council, look at ladbrokes they did not adheres to labour court recommendations and their chief exec wants to get involved in legislation to be open all year till 10, love the idea of a strike or stoppage downing tools on Saturdays etc… Still too many yes brigade in shops that are too close to the area managers. I am with siptu but not a lot in province are in unions. Other than the love triangle, did anyone else take them to court out of curiousity?.

Labour Court recommendations need to be changed to Labour Court laws. I don’t know how they can sleep at night when they take advantage of workers like that.
Mike Garde from Dialogue was in court aswering ridiculous questions put to him by Morrice’s legal team. She is a director of INE. What I like about it is Morrice and Quinn guarantee newspaper articles that include Dialogue and the service they provide for the public. We also get great coverage of what happens; who says what etc., Quinn is the biggest liar you could ever meet. In his last court case Morrice had to lie to the court rather than disagree with what Quinn had already given as evidence. Documents were forged to back up what he said and even then he could not get his story straight. The whole thing is a farce. Talk about shooting themselves in the foot.

Have you read the latest on Dialogue? An ex-educoist protested with DI and posted on Protest Tony Quinn Pictures. She had a bit of a hard time with a number of educoists. She wasn’t fazed by them at all. Their anger came to the surface to protect their ‘saviour’. Quite a few old age pensioners like himself dressed in their Sunday best and others dressing as if going out for a night on the town.
Reading DI’s account and Eve’s it gives a fuller picture of his cowardice and the lies Quinn tells them. Seriously, two older men, shareholders in INE, blatently lied about getting dividents and one of them backtracked and admitted it was a loan. From this I gather Quinn approves of him as anyone who stood up to him got nothing! THIS IS THE TRUTH! Security moved in to take him away from Mike Garde. Unless something drastic happens to sever the tie between himself and Quinn, the day is coming when John Boyle will be out in the cold with the rest of them. Quinn ignores lifelong friends because they don’t fit in with his new gambling lifestyle in Vegas. Boyle is around a number of years but, I bet that Quinn will have forgotten he ever existed once there is no ‘site of gold’ in them there shops of gambling.

Angie I believe this person has answered your question! The DI campaign has assisted in ending the courses.
This for the following reason. There is no evidence that Boylesports is under the influence of TQ. Unless we receive further evidence to the contrary we are of the opinion that John Boyle is still under the influence of Quinn’s philosopy.
Also we were given information from ex Educoists that GD is a convinced Educoist, but that her activities though possibility influenced by Quinn are not directly simple Educo courses. We have written this on a number of occasions.
I have started to work in the Boyle’s HQ in Dundalk about 6 months ago and i have to say that all this ‘cult’ish behaviour must be kept well hidden as i’ve yet to see any of it! My dealings with the JB himself have been kept to a bare minimum thus far. Who do i need to watch out for because i’ve become a little alarmed after reading these post, that maybe i cant see the wood for the trees!
